Welcome to our workshop. This 19th C. Belgian Gilt Console Table was one of our recent restoration projects. When we received it, the gesso on approximately 45% of the piece had deteriorated, marring the appearance of the gold. We stabilized the existing base, rebuilt the missing gesso, and re-leafed the affected areas. Finally, we blended the repairs to match the original gold leaf.
